Innovation and development of new products is the lifeblood of every business. At Mount Franklin Foods, Research and Development plays a leading role in helping our customers grow their business with on-trend products that meet the needs across all of the ever-changing markets that we serve. With R&D laboratories at each of our facilities, including a full pilot plant for soft sugar confectionery in our Sunrise Confections division, we can provide timely prototypes for our customers based on their ideas and/or bring new ideas based on current market trends.

Our R&D staff are experienced food technology veterans with science degrees in Food Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Food Chemistry. Our internal experts also partner with all of the premier ingredient vendors in the US and worldwide. The team can provide collaborative solutions for customer needs whether targeted product attributes, specific regulatory requirements, or new trend-based concepts.

Quality Control

Mount Franklin Foods is serious about its commitment to quality.

Mount Franklin Foods' Azar Nut Company and Sunrise Confections facilities are certified with the highest manufacturing standards and quality distinctions in the industry - SQF Edition 8. We also have the top “Superior” rating from the American Institute of Baking (AIB) at our Distribution Center.

Our manufacturing capabilities also include Kosher, Halal and USDA Organic certified production. In addition, all of our facilities have quality control capabilities to test for acidity, pH, dextrose equivalent, percent of solids, and use laboratories that are ISO 17025 certified for microbiology or other chemical testing.

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Program (HACCP) is utilized ensuring that our high-quality standards are met.
